Good news, globe trotters—more and more countries are opening their borders again after a long tourism hiatus from the pandemic. Thanks to the global administration of COVID-19 vaccines and the decline in cases, traveling feels easier to do these days. To guide you on your 2022 travel plans, here are the countries that have recently re-opened their borders to international visitors.
Australia - Fully vaccinated leisure and business travelers may enter Australia with proof of a negative RT-PCR test taken within 72 hours of departure.
New Zealand - While still in a travel bubble with Australia, fully vaccinated travelers may now enter New Zealand without quarantining for seven days. The country also plans to ease its restrictions and open its borders slowly to foreign travelers.
The United Arab Emirates - The UAE no longer requires covid testing for fully vaccinated visitors. However, unvaccinated travelers may still enter the Emirates if they can present a negative RT-PCR test taken within 48 hours.
Israel - Israel is now open to unvaccinated foreign travelers who can present a negative PCR test prior to departure. However, a second test is required upon their arrival and travelers must quarantine at a facility for up to 24 hours until they get their result.
Philippines - After two years of keeping their international borders closed, the Philippines is welcoming international tourists and business travelers again given that they are fully vaccinated and can present a negative RT-PCR test before departure.
Thailand - Fully vaccinated travelers can visit Thailand again. However, all foreign visitors must undergo two PCR tests upon arrival. If travelers tested positive, they must quarantine for 10 days in the country.
Vietnam - International visitors can enter Vietnam if they are fully vaccinated, tested negative prior to departure, and are willing to quarantine for three days upon the arrival.
Indonesia – Fully vaccinated or not, international travelers are now able to visit Indonesia as long as they can present a negative PCR test that was taken within 72 hours prior to departure and is willing to quarantine for five days if fully vaccinated, or seven days if they are unvaccinated.
